The DSC-WX50 Digital Camera from Sony is a straight-forward point-and-shoot with 16.2 megapixels packed into an Exmor R CMOS sensor. Along with features like iSCN - which detects 33 scene conditions and automatically adjust camera settings for you - the WX50 also puts a number of creative and advanced capture options at your fingertips. From the ease of using the Intelligent Sweep Panorama feature for one shot landscapes to the Background Defocus function for a look more frequently associated with DSLR capture, this camera has an extensive menu of useful capabilities. Other such features include Anti-blink, Soft Skin mode, Sweep Multi Angle, and then some.
The WX50 has a 2.7"Clear Photo LCD for composition, review, and menu navigation. A Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 5x optical zoom - and 10x Clear Image Zoom - gives you the ability to zoom in close or go out wide for great shots from groups and landscapes to interiors. Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization keeps images blur-free, even when the camera is hand-held, and the built-in flash gives you great stills when shooting in low-light. SD/SDHC/SDXC and Memory Stick Duo media all can be used with the camera for convenient file storage.
